What’s the date?

Spring seems to go by so quickly. First day of Summer is Tuesday the 21st and soon
all the kiddies will be home, the beaches will be full and the temps will be
hot hot hot!
It’s been a challenging season with the weather and all the rain and winds
we’ve been getting. I think we did manage to have 2 weeks of sunny days in a row.

…… it’s raining and thundering out right now.

The roses have taken a beating but we got a handle on it now and they’re beautiful again.
It’s a good thing I don’t mind cleaning them and George stays on top of the spraying.

I love seeing all the roses that people have in blogland and often wonder how they
feel about all the maintenance.
Topic for another time.

greenhouse_83june2011
Gee I was going to tell you the name of this rose but it escapes me now and I don’t feel like going outside and getting wet.
Oh wait just remembered.
Ebb tide!
so there you go.
And you thought I knew what I was going to write about.
Nope, just let it happen as it comes…..
I overthink things enough during the day…..
I really don’t want to when I’m blogging.
Is that bad?
greenhouse_07june2011
I do find myself writing posts in my head while working that never end up being written.
In my head they sound pretty good.
Some may actually be but many I think are subjects that I never feel comfortable writing about.
Does that happen to you?
You come to your senses and think why I’m I going to write about that???
Everyone will think you’re nuts!
or worse hate you! ok hate is a strong word.
Never want to visit you again
greenhouse_21june2011
Ok changing subject…..
I have the attention of a gnat sometimes…..
but this next picture is of foliage and you know how much I love me foliage!
I noticed a lot of people doing their pots with just that this year.
catmint
work it Mr Bee
martha

chalk plant
I’ve used a lot more succulents this year and had intended on showing you more pots that I had made up but they
sold quickly and never got many pics of them.
semper
This was my crown one with hens and chicks.
Someone asked me if it was a religious thing?
no just something different.
fifi
Little Fifi looking so angelic with eyes the color of those hydrangeas.
A few seconds later she was breaking apart that hydrangea
and throwing it at her twin sister. Too cute!
I love when they come by with their parents.
George turns into a little kid again and becomes a human jungle jim.

Hope you all have a great weekend!
Hugs,
Carole

The flowers look beautiful! Yes, I do the same thing, come up with posts in my little pea brain and then, later, think how stupid they sound. Or whiney! It is sooo hot here already. 100 degrees! HORRIBLE! Everything I had was wilted this evening. Including me! HA!
The crepe myrtle is already blooming! They never bloom in June! I reallly need to move to the mountains! :)

Thanks for sharing all of these beautiful flower photos. I always enjoy visiting and seeing what you're up to and what beauties you have to share. I'm sure this year has been different for you with the weather being so unpredictable. I'm still dreaming of 80 degrees and sunny. We did have a nice day yesterday, but I have so much to do that I don't get to really enjoy it....rain once again today:-(

Wishing you a lovely Summer.

I love it when you share your flowers with us!
I haven't been able to spend much time out in the garden this Spring or even now that Summer is here.
I actually have a flat of impatiens that need to have something done with ...but can't seem to manage the time!
Maybe after the French flea!
(My crazy hydrangeas once again came out pink!
I guess I am going to have to soak them in that sulfate stuff:)
Have a wonderful week!

Donna

Hey Carole
Gorgeous roses and shots... makes me wish for spring even more.. especially as this flu seems to have taken hold over here... still trying to beat it off with a stick..

Fifi is adorable.. I can't believe how much they have grown... [assuming both have grown at the same rate.. hehe]

Have a lovely weekend.. ciao xxx Julie

Hey Girlie
How is the season going for you, I see your flowers are all so beautiful... I hope things have settled a little but how is the store doing?
I am back and missed my first flush of roses, I have lost so many and I see I have at least 5 that have gone back to the wild or died below the graft.
I will have to dig those up, ugh! Some are large.
Wishing you a great Sunday
Blessings
Rebecca

The Ebbe rose is splendid. I think of posts in my head too. Then never post them. The only roses I can keep alive are the knockouts and some climbers so I guess my maintenance is in question! Fifi could not be any prettier with that hair and those eyes! xoxo, olive

Oh my - Fifi looks like a little angel. :)

Love your photos and honesty about never knowing what you'll blog about next. Neither do I. But hey - that's part of the fun! :)

It is so dry here (first whimpy rain of the year was yesterday), and some ground creature tore up part of my garden, so my tiny garden is not looking so great this year. For some crazy reason, the columbines are having their best year ever.

Anyway, I LOVE seeing your pics, Carole!!!

Hugs,
Zuzu

Carole- your flower images are stunning as always. I can only imagine how beautiful your gardens are right now. I love roses but don't have the patience or time that they demand- I'd rather just enjoy yours!

Oh my Fifi is so beautiful! Her hair is gorgeous- she is truly a little angel. Love that picture--

Hi Carole...I had a wonderful weekend, thank you! Hope you did too.

I write alot of posts and then delete them for some of the same reasons you mentioned. Hope one day I don't hit publish by mistake!

Fifi is just adorable!

Dear Carole,
What gorgeous photographs of your roses ..... and, so healthy looking too. George has definitely got the spraying down to a fine art, by the looks of it. Roses don't grow so well in our back garden as it's north facing but we do have a couple of ramblers that are lovely. ....and, we have our beautiful David Austin rose ' St. Swithin's ' in the front.
Fifi is so cute....I remember the photo's that you showed us when they were tiny.
Hope you and George are well and are not too run off of your feet !! XXXX

Oh my goodness....my mind is alllllways writing posts - most of them about stupid things I've done. Then I wonder, "who would want to hear about THAT?" and push it to the back of my mind. lol! But to be honest with you, I truly love hearing my blog friends just "talk" in their posts. You really get to know them better! That little Fifi is just screaming adorable, Carole! What beautiful eyes and hair! :)

Hello Carole,
Do you have any flowers left after all this rain? Good lord I wish it would quit! I've had quite enough, thank you.

Fifi should be a model!
