Happy New Year

NEW YEARS last year

I struggled to find this photo file I had put these in. Don't you hate that?
Just as I was about to give up I found them. I'm running late so I'll be brief.
We are going to the same party tonight too. I am so looking forward to a night of laughter, great food and drink with dear friends.  Last year we played the game Right, Left Center ( or is it Left Right Center?) like we have played many times before. It takes no skill which is one of the things I love about it. You play with only a few dollars and set of dice.  That was me winning the big jackpot at the end of the night. I had forgotten I had won last year until seeing these photos again. Wonder if I'll be as lucky this time?  Don't want everyone to resent me so maybe I'll have to throw the game. Oh yeah you can't it's just luck. I didn't take the photos hubby did I think? I never looked better. Thanks honey. I wish I was blurry in everyday life.
The little wooden guy with his pants down is a Caganer. I know what you're thinking? what the heck is that.
All I will say is I never laughed so hard in  my LIFE.
Do you know the tradition? One the guests at the party lives in Spain and told us of the Catalonian Christmas tradition.
If you want you can read about it HERE

With that I wish you all a Very Happy New Year

You make my life a better place and I thank you with all my heart.

Merry Christmas

I have been MIA here for awhile but I wanted to wish you and your families a Merry Christmas.
It's been a busy season for us and I'm grateful for that.
The news of the tragedy in Newtown, a sweet Ct. town much like the one we live in has me reflecting again on how fleeting life is. How important our loved ones are to us.  You included.
I know you join me in praying for the ones around us that are suffering and to continue supporting them in the new year.

Merry Christmas

NEST in Mystic, Ct

George and I went to visit Marcia at NEST back in October.....I know, where does the time go? I'd meant to share it much earlier.
I finally got the photos transferred from my phone. For some strange reason I couldn't get them to transfer so I emailed them to myself. Pretty easy:)  Anyways here they are. I'm sure the shop is now full of beautiful Christmas decor. Marcia and her staff are amazing.
In case you didn't know they moved from their old location just down the road.
Say hi to the girls for me.

Happy Thanksgiving

Just wanted to say how much I am thankful for this year. It's what I love about Thanksgiving. It's a day to stop and reflect on what is most important. Our family, our friends and of course our beloved pets.
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving day enjoying a day filled with loved ones around a bountiful table.     I still haven't gone grocery shopping yet.
I wish I could do a little dancing and singing in the aisles like Sara.
You think I should?

Thankful

This song has been resonating in my head today( maybe because George was playing it when I came downstairs this morning) I thought you might like to click on it while viewing the photos. They are all from our little town of Old Saybrook.

We came thru Sandy very well only minor damage. We don't live far from Long Island sound but not close enough to get flooded. I hadn't been able to write a post until now, not because of lack of power. We only lost it at home for a day and not at all at the work. I just couldn't take my mind off the people who have lost so much especially the ones in and around NYC and Jersey coastline. I know you have heard it all on the news and seen it on TVso I won't repeat it. Lets just say it's overwhelming and heartbreaking X 100.  I wish so much I could go there and help. Makes me want to not open the shop and go and see what I can do. Puts everything in a different light.    Things that you thought were so important now seem silly.
I've been thinking a lot about our lives and wanting to make changes. Simplify. I thought I had been doing that little by little but I want to even more. I'm not even sure how to do more....or should I say less. It's funny where life takes you. You wonder how you got there. Is it where you want to be?

Well for now I have to get back to work......
see what I mean:)
Miss you all and sorry for my lack of visits
