Lazy days…..if you’re a cat

cricket

Life is rolling along like it always does.
One minute, one hour, one day at a time.
All of a sudden (well not really) it’s come to my attention
that it’s time to get my house in order
and get planting.
Last week we got down to business and deep
cleaned the greenhouses,
putting things together to save space so new
 things could get planted.

Organizing plants is not like organizing your sock drawer.
Of course I’m not good at that either, but I did my best.
I now have a linen sock bag they all get toss into.
(I can do that now since we’re not in shorts season yet)

Whatever I pick is what I wear.
They are all the same color btw …white. No time to sort…ugh
I used to do that but it drove me crazy.

drink

I had these cups and teapots that I brought out to plant but decided
Charlotte would enjoy using it as a water dish meanwhile.
I haven’t gotten to planting them anyways.
George caught her pawing at it. That usually means she’s trying to
cover it up so no one else can find it.
She does that with her milk too.
I couldn’t get the camera out fast enough.

cute

But I did when she was playing
the “come see how cute I am….
and how can you just stand there ignoring me? game.
Of course I loved her up right after.

I wanted to thank you all who commented on my last post.
Seems many of us have our “me” time to relax and take breaks
from work. We all need that to keep sane I think.

It’s hard to do when there are deadlines to meet though.

lady in field

I especially enjoyed the comments about the photo of the
girl and cow in the field.
You were right it was like she was about to get a kick in the head.
or worse.
( I’ll just leave it at that)

girl redo

I redid it and switched her positions. Tanya had a great idea to make
her look like she was feeding the cow. Thanks Tanya!!!
Somehow it came out darker
the next go round. I tried to match the tone but since she was in black and
white and the original photo wasn’t. It looks a little off to me.
I’m not completely satisfied but that’s alright.

Maybe cropping will make it better.

Ok I think I like it better.
Talk about blogging on the fly.

ok I have one more thing to talk about!
Sweet Theresa of
is having a wonderful Giveaway.
One of you can win a custom made
pendant necklace that she’s calling
“a snippet of life”.
high resolution pendantbracelet picnik008

If she reaches 600 followers during that time she
will announce 2 winners.
She’s pretty close! so won’t you help her meet her goal?

Ok,
Enjoy your day!
I have to go plant something :)

Lucky me!

When I think of this blogger.
One of the first things that comes to mind is
Family!
Her blog is called
 612 Riverside
This is where she makes a home
for her husband and children.
Her number one priority.
In her spare time she loves creating.
Whether using materials from fabric, paper or objects
found at the fleamarket she manages to
whip it up into something delightful,
interesting and always beautiful.
Recently I was the lucky
 recipient of some of her
lovely handmade goods in a giveaway.

All beautifully and creatively wrapped.

The vintage card from the 50's (though I think
these might have come
from a company that makes reproductions of them)
I have the card at home....wish I had the name for you.
I blog from work but
don't tell my boss!

Just kidding

BIG C for me!

Now the actual giveaway was this wonderful lavender
laundry soap that I have to say makes
doing laundry like a walk in a french lavender field.
It's gentle enough for fine linens and only uses a small
amount....1 tablespoon per front loader.
You can find it in her Esty shop HERE
Isn't that incredible?

The other part of the giveaway was this lovely handmade dryer
sheet that Theresa sewed from a vintage bed sheet.
She has a true love of recycling that I adore about her.
She does all she can to not only keep things out
of the landfill but tries to live her life with as
 little impact to the environment.
She's my kind of girl.

Now to my huge surprise and delight she also sent me
this notepad covered
in this beautiful vintage backcloth trimmed with lace
and button to close.

Tucked in the lace is an old photograph of two friends
with their arms wrapped around each other.
I'd like to think that's the two of us...
except I'm the better looking younger one.
Just kidding Theresa.

Awhile back she had bought some wool blankets
 and sweaters to felt.
I commented to her that I had spent hours at
GoodWill one day looking for
sweaters made of 100% wool to felt also.
I thought I'd have an easy time of it.
I searched out every label to find that most of them were
blends of some type or other.
I looked at so many that after what felt like hours I was able
to just feel them briefly and just move on.
Now there's a TALENT ladies!

The mellow yellow blanket piece reminds me of one
we still use on our bed.
It belonged to my parents.
And though it's old and the edges are a little tattered
it's the one I love the most.
It keeps me warmer then any other blanket we've ever had.
I would never cut it up.
Now I don't need to because Theresa
was kind enough to share hers with me.
Thank you Theresa not only for the lovely gifts
but for your friendship.

I want to show you some of the cute pumpkins
Theresa's been making

I call them Bling Bling Pumpkins.
aren't they cute?

This is the big Momma Pumpkin

She's just gotten a big order to bring to
a local gift shop.

But if you wanted one of your very own
you can order one

Happy shopping!
