Lazy days…..if you’re a cat

cricket

Life is rolling along like it always does.
One minute, one hour, one day at a time.
All of a sudden (well not really) it’s come to my attention
that it’s time to get my house in order
and get planting.
Last week we got down to business and deep
cleaned the greenhouses,
putting things together to save space so new
 things could get planted.

charlotte

Organizing plants is not like organizing your sock drawer.
Of course I’m not good at that either, but I did my best.
I now have a linen sock bag they all get toss into.
(I can do that now since we’re not in shorts season yet)

Whatever I pick is what I wear.
They are all the same color btw …white. No time to sort…ugh
I used to do that but it drove me crazy.

drink

I had these cups and teapots that I brought out to plant but decided
Charlotte would enjoy using it as a water dish meanwhile.
I haven’t gotten to planting them anyways.
George caught her pawing at it. That usually means she’s trying to
cover it up so no one else can find it.
She does that with her milk too.
I couldn’t get the camera out fast enough.

cute

But I did when she was playing
the “come see how cute I am….
and how can you just stand there ignoring me? game.
Of course I loved her up right after.

I wanted to thank you all who commented on my last post.
Seems many of us have our “me” time to relax and take breaks
from work. We all need that to keep sane I think.

It’s hard to do when there are deadlines to meet though.

lady in field

I especially enjoyed the comments about the photo of the
girl and cow in the field.
You were right it was like she was about to get a kick in the head.
or worse.
( I’ll just leave it at that)

girl redo

I redid it and switched her positions. Tanya had a great idea to make
her look like she was feeding the cow. Thanks Tanya!!!
Somehow it came out darker
the next go round. I tried to match the tone but since she was in black and
white and the original photo wasn’t. It looks a little off to me.
I’m not completely satisfied but that’s alright.

Maybe cropping will make it better.

girl redo cropped

Ok I think I like it better.
Talk about blogging on the fly.

ok I have one more thing to talk about!
Sweet Theresa of
is having a wonderful Giveaway.
One of you can win a custom made
pendant necklace that she’s calling
“a snippet of life”.
high resolution pendantbracelet picnik008

If she reaches 600 followers during that time she
will announce 2 winners.
She’s pretty close! so won’t you help her meet her goal?

Ok,
Enjoy your day!
I have to go plant something :)

Let's not talk about spring cleaning the greenhouse. I just came inside from mine, and the aphids are having parties in there. Leave things for a few days, and the aphids take over. Tomorrow or Saturday, when I have more time, I will clean up and send those nasty little critters to meet their maker.

Love your cat pictures!

Hi Carole,
Great photos of the kitties. What would we do without them. They bring so much joy into our lives.

Like the way you changed up the photo. She does look better facing the cow.

Charlotte and the green tea cup is the best photo of a cat I have seen in a long time. I just had the sweetest lady offer me a selection of day lilies from her garden-I am going to dig them up. Have fun planting.

Hi Carole, little Charlotte and that gorgeous tea cup.....perfect!! I'm sure you are working hard getting it all ready for Spring...like I said before, waiting to see all the gorgeous things coming together ! It won't be long now, it was about 60 degrees here yesterday as well, but today rain all day and cooler....it is still early March, isn't it?? N.xo

Good Saturday morning to you, Carole! We woke up to almost a foot of snow this morning! Yikes! I hope you were able to avoid this nasty weather.

I'm just loving your cat photos. They are so darn cute! We used to have a grey cat that looked so much like Charlotte. His name was Moses. Looking at Charlotte brought back good memories : )

I'm glad to hear planting season is underway! Yippeee! I can hardly wait to start buying seeds! Btw, sorting socks really is a nightmare, isn't it?

Hi Carole, Your kitties are so adorable and you took some really great pictures of them. Cats often do the cutest things, don't they? I had no idea before Cecil came to us. Your girl and cow picture is beautiful!
Have a wonderful Sunday :-)!
xoxo,
Julia
PS: I've eaten only whole-grain bread lately. See, you've got a good influence on me :-). I've to admit though that I still need my chocolate, sigh.

All I know Carole is I would love being a cat in your greenhouse : )
drinking from a lovely china cup!

I giggled at the girl in the rear of the cow comment...yes, much better to feed the cow than the other way around.
Soon you will be in full swing won't you? Enjoy your planting!!!

Thank you, thank you Carole! Isn't it funny how those little creatures capture our hearts and keep us entertained? I was so impressed with the layering and photo coolness of your pic that I didn't think about her getting kicked in the head! She does look much happier on the other end of the cow :)
Thanks again for the shout out and for putting the giveaway on your sidebar... happy planting!

This is such a fun packed post dear Carole!!
What a special chat your Charlotte must be - do I detect a Spode cup and saucer? I have the same set in blue but sadly I haven't got a cat anymore to share mine!
Your "pretty maid with cows in the field" is wonderful! Photoshop must be a fun application to play with.

Wishing you a wonderful new week and happy gardening dear!

I just found your blog today. I was reading it and enjoying your cute teacup drinking kitty, and then the first cow and girl picture caught my eye. Upon first glance I wondered what she was doing at that end of the cow. Then I read your step by step editing of the picture and saw the actual "end result" after you flipped the girl to the front of the cow. I laughed out loud about how you moved her so she wouldn't get kicked in the head or worse. The picture turned out really well. It has a real turn of the (nineteenth) century feeling about it. I'm still chuckling about your "or worse" comment. I'll definitely be dropping by regularly now to see what you are up to.

Hi Carole Charlotte is a beauty. I love her fancy water bowl. I cant imagine the work of cleaning a greenhouse. I bought a tiny one this year for starting seedlings and I'm as excited as if I built a major professional style greenhouse lol. Love your photo too. I actually like it both ways.

I love the pictures of your cats! So sweet! My cat Trixie has her own little teacup for milk..don't we spoil our pets?? Hope you find time to relax a bit!

LOL - I just knew you wouldn't leave that image alone! Not sure I could have either when someone mentioned that the woman might be the recipient of a cow-pie. Ewwwww. Not good and I hadn't even thought of that when I saw the beautiful graphic you created. I'm thinking about it now though and will again when I make something digital lol Love the new image and of course am sooooo loving the beautiful pictures of contentment and fur!!!

I hope you are having a good week! Weather today was purrfect and I was not able to get out and play in the dirt. So now I am pouting.....maybe tomorrow....

Your cats are so sweet. Love the photos of them drinking the milk out of that beautiful cup and saucer and posing just perfect for the camera.
We have a yellow lab, Maggie, that cup would be just a little too small...

Hi Carol...sorry to be so out of touch. Just wanted to let you know that I saw your sidebar picture to adopt a kitty from Forgotten Felines and thought you would be happy to know that it touched my heart. Butch and I went there the next weekend and adopted TWO black cats..called them, "Salem" and "Potion"...after all..I am the Queen of Halloween! It was all thanks to your mention of adoption and they are the light in this house! Talk soon and get together?
