Instagram love

Have I told you how much I Heart Instagram

Actually I just started it recently and don't have a lot of photos yet. I'm often late to the game on the in thing.
I was late to Pinterest too.
Besides all the great effects you can get it's the instant gratification that I like. No having to get the big camera out, manually focusing that I need to do these days...( yep it's still giving me trouble)  I really want to get the new Nikon D800. It's been on my radar since last year but didn't come out until early this year.  I was beginning to think it was a urban myth with 36.3 Mp.!!!!!!!!
It's my dream camera.....heck lets face, it's everyone who likes to take photos "Dream Camera". I've had a good talk with myself and decided to go with a more reasonably priced one....what that will be I still have no idea but I think I will stick with Nikons. I still think they have the best lenses and that's really what matters.

Until I decide I will leave you with images of my new timewaster  obsession.

Huge leek blossom. Petey likes to run around with them in his mouth.

Back of one of the perennial houses....A no admittance greenhouse which is why it gets out of control.
I hate bittersweet!!!!!!

I came home early one day to watch Junk Gypsies on Saturday at 7 pm
Love that show....thanks Debbie
Yes that is a metal pull up bar on the left that hubby installed last year.
I'm not happy with it but whatcha gonna do?

See that scratch on his nose???

Yes this little girl did that.
When she's not giving him the WHAT FOR she's loving on the corn silk and will jump in the box of veggies we bring home most every night.
Did I mention we sell the best corn in town?

Bliss

New ribbon as it was being unpacked. Gosh still haven't gotten those priced. Trying to stay on top of new merch coming in.....but not doing a very good job with it. The gift shop isn't open now but I need it to be by Fall.

Saw this on our walk last night. George told me to leave it:)
Of course I did!

SNOW DAY

Sunshine snow_22January 2011
The whole nations has been blanketed in snow (well every state but 2)
and Connecticut is no exception.
Now I have to say that I was getting confused as to why we were
the only ones not getting any snow.

decolored
Well the lesson here is
watch what you WISH for!!!
dirty snow
I didn’t go out with a tape measure but I’m thinking 15” or so and
according to the weather men it’s more snow
that we’ve had in 15 years from one storm.
More coming this weekend!!!!!
driveway
The day after the big snowfall I took pics just to record for posterity
but as you know pics taken on a “no sun” day are a little flat.

see.
Notice the weight of the snow pulling apart this arborvitae.

fdoor
It’s been in the single digits at night….bbbrrrr
but during the day the sun has been shining for the most part so the icicles have been such a bonus.

The yard even looks better with snow blanketing all the forgotten clean up.

Nigella watching George as he labors outside with the snow blower.
( yes that’s the tree on the left….
and still as fresh as when she came in)

She’s happy to be spending time in this sun drenched room especially now that Mom
took down the curtains in there for cleaning and decided it looked better
without them.
living room shot
Loving the sunshine in that room.
Tried using a bit of red this year but not sure I liked it.
I’m not as good with red as my friend Evi
Yes like I said still have our tree up but I won’t bore you with Christmas decorations…..
just a few silly candy canes.
I know 95% of you have packed it away.
I will too soon and then replace it with Valentines Day décor.

It’s been great to use this room again. We really ignore it
the rest of the time so we’re making a point of having coffee in the morning or tea at night here.
That under used room that we wonder why we have until
NOW.
Do you have a favorite room?

Booty Good

My booty as I called it was pretty good the other day.
Not shiny gold like a pirates booty
and not given away or stolen like
the term suggests.
Somethings were inexpensive and some..... well,
 maybe overpriced
compared to some of the acquisitions of bloggers out there.
Boy some of you out there really get some great deals.

This is the bulk of what I acquired.
Not bad for a few hours.

I have to tell you a quick story.
Our first stop was a booth where I saw a wire basket.
I politely asked him how much.
He said $35. So without saying anything or making any faces
( I swear )
proceeded to put it back down.
He then said 30, then 25.
I still didn't like it that much. It was rather ordinary
and really thought it wasn't worth more then 15 but I wasn't going to even mention
what I thought it was worth.

He then yelled out to the crowd
"Tire kicker"
and pointed to me!!!
Everyone of course turned to look at him....
None of which were in his booth btw.
I never looked around to see if they were
looking at me or at him.
I hoped that he embarrassed himself in their eyes.
Who knows?

All I kept thinking was
Wow what a way to start the day.

Later when we were going by him Deanna heard him
doing it to someone else.
I wonder what kind of day HE had?

The good thing is that the shopping experience improved
immensely for the rest of the day.

I stuck to my usual colors of white and neutral tones.

A few simple tins

I don't really know why I liked these. They were mixed in with a pile of metal handles.
Some kind of marble piece that I can only think was from a fancy lamp or
chandelier....maybe?

various numbers....sorry Laura no 2's in the pile...I really looked.

These I just fell in love with. I wished she had more I would
have bought all she had.

Of course now a days this kind of bead work is often done in India.
Nice but not like these.
I could have swearn that I had 5 of these.
Oh well, it'll show up someday...
or not!

These oversized faucet handles I bought after seeing the
ones Debra showed me she bought.
She wanted to use them as candle holders...
That Debra's so clever!

I hadn't bought an alabaster lamp in a long time.
This ones pretty small.
Cute!
And metal wall candle holder

Crystals sold by the foot and also bought a small bolt of brown
toile fabric along with some gauzy white and tan bolt too.

New members of my ever expanding family.
George keeps telling me to stop buying these but
someone has to love and cherish them.

I can pretend that this baby girl might have worn these shoes
though they're not that old.

Ideal Baby Shoes from Danvers Mass.
Danvers is right outside Salem Mass.
where we stayed a couple of time while visiting at Halloween time.
Always love seeing the "real witches" walking the streets.

Look at the size of that bouquet.
Someone next to me commented that she looked
just like their mothers wedding portrait.
I wondered if the shorter length was popular then?

My real score was this mesh bag!!!

Love Love Love it!
I now have 3.

Nothing fancy just a bait bucket.

Too bad I can't make a bag out of it
hum!

This gentleman looked like he'd make a fine fishermen.
Not in that fine suit though.

Nigella checking out the new members of the family.
She can sniff out the cat lovers.
.

She gave her approval,
that's good don't want any trouble!
