Martha from MJ Ornaments

A few months back I was the lucky winner of a sweet crystal charm from Martha from MJ Ornaments. I was so surprised as I had just won 2 other prizes from her good friend Rosemary and Tracie. Aren't bloggers great? They must have thought wow what's up with this girl??
Isn't she a little piggy winning everything. I'm sure they didn't really think this ......but I did feel a little guilty. I never win anything normally......I've never had that kind of luck.

Anyways with all the things going on and doing White Wednesday and Black and White Sundays I couldn't seem to find the right time to show it to you.
Until now!!!
I've been leaving it displayed at home on an old bottle and wanted to show it to you in the way I get to enjoy everyday even when I'm not wearing it.

This is the back of it made from copies of her great grandmothers journals. Just as pretty as the front.

I took the liberty to show you some of her other charms. She offers a slew of different designs, shapes, seasonal and everyday.

Can you believe how tiny this little fairy is??? so adorable
Not sure if "Magical" fairy dust is included? Doesn't hurt to ask!!!

Right now she's doing a ton of really fun Halloween charms but with Christmas fast approaching she has many Christmas themes too.

Martha has one of the prettiest blogs around with the most exquisite images I've ever seen as you can witness from the pictures above. The detail and magic is there to drool over.
What's also fun about her blog is that she takes you thru some of the best places Southern California has to offer.

Even if you were not into charms (but who doesn't like charms????) you would still be completely enchanted with her and the creativity she shares with everyone.

If you want to take a look at her website click

Thank you Martha
your beautiful inside and out!

Embellishments~ can't live without them!

A most anticipated package arrived the other day. My ribbon!!!! Well one of many, but this was a new company that just started this year by two sisters. From the moment I saw their booth at the gift show this winter I was smitten. The booth was packed with people. Even buyers that didn't even buy ribbon for their stores were stopping to admire the rolls of ribbons so beautifully displayed. I planned on just taking this box home to get it priced and checked off the invoice and then pack it away til Christmas, but once I opened it

I just had to play. There wasn't just big oversized spools there was beautiful beaded trim too like I'd never seen thru other ribbon companies.

I'm still not quite really sure what I'm going to do with them all but I just couldn't resist. If I only had time to create all the things I'd like. But do any of us ever do that. We do what time allows us and dream the rest.....
This one was rather wide and at first I thought it would really make a great scarf except it's 15 ft long and wired on the edges. It does makes a HUGE bow.
I still have 5 mos. to come up with something..... fabulous!!! How many days until Christmas??? I really do have Christmasy looking ribbon but I wasn't ready to play with those colors yet....we only just got thru Spring!!!

Well I couldn't do anything without Nigella wanting to get right smack in the middle of it. But I'm sure I'm not the only one with a cat that does that. It doesn't do any good to push her away. 10 times!!!! she's going to get her way.

....so I thought I might as well have her model the rhinestone pins. Doesn't she look so annoyed........ but pretty!!!!
"except I really do like this fabric....I could really get my nails into this stuff."
"This makes a perfect head rest"
Wait...... the fashion shows not over......
we're now going to model our new crown that we won from Rosemary of Roses Petite Maison. Look it fits you perfectly. If you love crowns as much as I do then check out Rosemary's blog....she is the Crown Queen and has then for any occasion.

Well Nigella it's official you are now my "little Princess". I'm lucky you're such a good sport and allow me to dress you up.

What would a girl do without her embellishment!!!!

Thank you Rosemary for the sweet crown that Nigella loves too!!!!

Nice Change

I guess I don't need to tell you what an amazingly warm weekend we experienced. Unseasonably warm as they say. Throughout the whole country I think??? If only I had a crystal ball and could have seen it coming. Freezing one minute and summer like with people in shorts and sandals the next. But we have to remember it's only April 26th and it can still go back to normal temperature's. Well anyways it's a nice change and this coming week will be the same. It was wonderful seeing everyone so happy ...

Aren't my little boys sweet holding hands and saying "come on lets run thru the flowers ....they won't care."

I love planting herbs and flowers together. Varying the textures....some fuzzy, round, linear with varying color...green,gray,gold and blue all together in an interesting container.

These are mini birdbaths...Don't really think a real bird could ever fit in it to bath but there just so cute. Made by a company called Burly made in the US...gee how often do you see that??? The grass was left over from flats I seeded for Easter that were not big enough to use at the time. I may try to make little Happy Mother's Day Flags for them...I should have thought ahead and asked Rosemary to make me some.

I cheated here and just put in some plugs just to see how it looked but I'll have to find something else that's a little better rooted. I'd love to use the moss I have in my backyard that I showed in a previous post. It's so green and lush.
I didn't always love hens and chickens all that much before, but there are so many different kinds now and I am after all a foliage girl.
I know it's just lettuce but it also makes a great window box or container plant...and what else could you ask for....beautiful and edible. While your watering it you can stop and take a nibble.

Hydrangea....well what can I say???...it's probably our most popular flowering shrub. I vowed last year that I was going to remove some of the ornamental grasses and plant a ton of them ~ all kinds ~but we never did. We have many of them already but I want some varieties we don't have yet...
This is our beautiful flowering quince. Last year I never got to see it in flower. George kept saying you have to go look at it.... It's gorgeous!!! I kept thinking I will when I get a chance. And when I finally did it had gone by!!! You know what they say ~ Take the time to smell the roses. Well in this case ~take time to see the flowering quince.
Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!!!!
Hugs,
Carole
