My first Blogger meeting and a little shopping

A few weeks ago I got an email from
asking me if I knew about an antique and collections show in
Naugatuck Ct.

She and her daughter Nicole were doing that show for the first time,
in the past having only just shopped there.
I thought sure, why not in the middle of Winter!!!!!....
months from me going to a fleamarket.
I had met Debra thru White Wednesday and loved her blog
and her look so I knew it would be fun.
I got my favorite shopping pals to come along.
Kathleen and Paula.
No arm twisting required!
I had never been to Naugatuck. Sounded like it should have been
on the East side of the state.
Everything there has a "tuck" at the end of it...))
but it was near Waterbury more in the middle of the state.
We live in such a small state. I know for some of you
from one end of your state to the other
can seems like an eternity.
I don't particularly like to drive so
my little state suits me fine.
It was being held at the High School so it wasn't fancy
and there wasn't anything large like furniture but mostly little treasures of
jewelry and vintage memorabilia.....so we had fun looking thru
all the goodies. It was the kind of show that you really
had to keep your eyes peeled.
Just the kind of place we all love.

Then we got to Debra's and her daughter Nicole's booth
which was much more decorated with an eye for design.
See all your yummy items from her booth?
Her and her talented daughter make pillows too and handbags.

Aren't they cute together? She's the first person I've met in blogland.
I was trying to not be too nervous:) lol
Her and her daughter are as sweet as they come, just as they seem on their blog.
We were talking like old friends in no time.

Her booth was filled with 50's vintage colors and some Victorian.
It had such a feminine touch that really appealed to us
and I'm sure all of you out there.

I bought the cutest white beaded bag.

A set of 3 glass etched apothacary bottles
and vintage postcards.
I

Kathleen picked up this adorable vintage hat decorated with sweet milinery.
Maybe she'll wear it for Easter?
We made our way around to all the booths
making sure we didn't miss anything.
Kathleen's a linen girl and is always looking for something new

I didn't get this silver bag. Looking at it I wished I had.
I was saving my money for an old book I saw which I'll share on
another post.
I took pictures of the things Paula bought that
I'll show on Wednesday too...
White of course!
Afterwards we left we went to lunch.....

at "First and Last" in Middletown on Main Street.
Paula's being shy :)) and Kathleen is just rummaging thru
her bag I call "the suitcase". It's the "in" thing.
Big Bags!!!
I'm just jealous because it's too FAB!
I was famished and had the brunch buffet
and had 3 plate full....which of course everyone noticed....
mostly salad I protested.
I was so full but the food was amazing.
For dessert they had a tirimisu pudding that was
out of this world!
I shared it with Paula.
Good thing I was so full I would have gone for seconds on that one.
Next time I'll start with dessert!
We all had a great day!!!
and we'll do it again next year!!!!
Thanks Debra for letting me know about
the show.
Isn't blogging great????

It is fun to meet other bloggers. I really enjoyed the Chicagoland Bloggers Get together, The show looks like fun. How far did you have to drive? Do you realize how far I would have to go if I went to the southern tip of Illinois. Not a distance I would drive for a day trip. xo Joan

Yes indeed blogging is great! Just today another vendor at our antique mall said she was lacking in inspiration lately. I told her, "I know just what you need to do......" where better to find inspiration than in blogland!

It is fun to get to meet the folks we visit with each day! I wish you could come to Texas for the spring show. I've gotten to meet so many wonderful bloggers there, even some from Canada!

Dear Carole,
How lovely to have met up with a blogging friend. Did you talk about all of us ? haha I love Paula and Kathleen, hiding !! What lovely things there were at the Antiques Show. I think that I would have to have had that gunmetal/silver beaded bag. Sorry, I know you wished that you had bought it. There's nothing worse than coming home, wishing that you'd bought something. It's not like a high street store, where you can go back and get it.... I am looking forward to seeing the old book that you bought.
Looks as if you all had a great lunch at 'First and Last'. I love the photos on the wall and the food sounded delicious. You lot cetainly make the most of your days out !!
Have a lovely week Carole. XXXX
