Reflection in the Mirror

You may have wondered what has happen to me???….or maybe not:)

I have been spending all my time staring at
myself in the mirror!!!

NOT!!!
I guess I can only blame myself for having mentioned my hair in the first place.
What was I thinking????
but now it seems that everyone wanted to know what I look like.
Eeeeeekkkkk!
Let me start by saying that I hate my picture taken.

and it must have started at a young age!
Apparently from the pout on my face I was having a bad day?
How much of a bad day can you have at 3? or 2 ? or whatever age I was there?
Hopefully, I got over it quickly and didn’t torture my parents too much that day.

sun

Now my camera experience or should I say my modeling experience as a child
….not professional of course:)
brings back the memory of my dad having me stand in the sunniest part of the yard and
me staring into the SUN! so most of my pictures are me squinting or
with eyes closed.
Me saying" but I can't look up" and my father just
losing patience and just quickly snapping a shot.

He tried but I just dreaded it.
Aren't we lucky now that we have a delete button???

me and patricia

Later on in life I realized if I wore a funny wig and and clown makeup I
 rather liked my picture taken.
No you don’t believe me?
Yeah I know the beard gave it away.
That’s me on the left and my cousin Patricia on the right.
My cousin had come for Summer vacation with my sister and niece from France.
I think we were at a River Festival……..hence the clown.
ahhh so long ago in my youth….
and when I could go places and have fun in the Summer.
Now all I do is work!
....and yes even with all this Snow I still love Winter!
I know you HATE me for saying that.

Ok there is no dragging it out!
Here is the hair!

more

I felt really stupid taking a picture of the top of my head.
I prayed George didn’t see me:)
How embarrassing….what would I say??? It’s what inquiring minds want to know???
…this is gripping exciting stuff I'm sharing!

I wonder if I'll get asked to share this in a magazine or something??
wink wink!
I wasn’t very good at it and took about 10 unfocused shots until I got the second one.

Me new hair_262011

Looking at my part? I think there are signs of me going bald!!!!
MORE  EEeeeekkkkkkkk!
and though I have no before pictures for you the color is only a little bit different
and the cut was just improved but not drastically different.
And no I don’t look like Sienna Miller or Kristin Cavallari
with my new hairdo
but hey they’re Stars and

well..... I’m just ME!

me

and yes that’s part of a Christmas display in the foreground.
Just took our Christmas tree out today!!!

Those Maynard trees hold up GREAT!! haha

I put the year on this picture…..
thought to myself OK I may not love this picture now but
maybe if I’m lucky enough to reach 70+ someday I might look back
at this moment with fondness!
in the old folks home….
And boy let me add I look more and more like my Mother everyday.
So now it’s like a little visit with her every time I see myself in the mirror.

And that’s always a GOOD thing.

You funny girl you! Love your hair cut. You are just as beautiful as I imagined. You know you're right.....I look at some of my older pictures that I hated and now, they look pretty darn good.

I am a little misty here, isn't that just silly? But now I have this very beautiful face to go along with all the warm and fuzzy feelings I have for you and our friendship.

Oh good grief, where are the damn tissues!? Told you a few minutes ago I was emotional....But this is happy emotional.

Now girl trust me, you know you can..put it on your sidebar, or have you already? Nope, just checked.

Hey Carole

LOVE your pics .. such a cutie~~~ cutie patootie ... and I can see that toni collette reference.. especially in the teenage shot... [i really LOVE that shot.. not the clown so much hahaha he's a tad scary!!! ] You are so brave putting your pic up.. [not that you need to be brave.. not at all.. but i just can't go there yet]..

I agree with the others and you.. funny how we love our photos from the past.. ones we hated years ago... maybe we just look less critically now.. and see more than the image.. but the person we were at that time.. the youth.. the joy .. the hope... i'll stop there.. hahaha

Well.. i'm raving.. but it's funny... you are much as I imagined.. and looking at your beautiful picture is like looking at my best friend.. even your image seems so familiar to me.. like someone I have known all my life... George should know he is a lucky man!!! He might of lost you to that clown!! haha.. You are just as beautiful outside as inside!!! but we all knew that!!

Ok.. none of this is making sense.. just so strange to see how familiar you look!!! I think I must have known you in a past life...

Take care my friend.. and thanks for sharing YOU with us,... Love the cardi too!!! gorgeous.. ciao ciao xxx Julie

You rock! Love the color and cut...love it!
I love seeing my mother's face in the mirror too. I never thought I looked that much like her until I got older. (Heck...I looked so different from the rest of my family, I always wondered if I was a stray cat they just found!) Sadly I look like her from behind as well...no rear!
Smart lady to date the photo.

Since I also hate my picture taken, I can imagine that it had cost you quite an effort to post your pictures. There is absolutely no reason to hide though, Carole! You look beautiful and as a toddler you were such a cutie. You are so funny! I first thought you would only share the pictures of the top of your hair. Your new hair cut looks great and I love all the different shades.
Have a great Sunday :-)!
HUGS to you,
Julia

That's a great picture of you! Looks so natural! I also hate to have my picture made, my face always looks fat and wrinkled! I finally put a picture of myself my profile about 6 months ago! Go with it! Nice to put a face with a blog!

Hi Carole! You look beautiful! Love the color! After your hair post, I showed my in-house hair dresser and she assured me we can do this to mwa...now I just need to get her to stick around long enough to do it! I loved seeing ALL of your photos, you are too cute... but I have to say the clown, frightening! :)
Happy Sunday! Theresa xoxo

Hello Carole,
Love the hairstyle, the color, all of it..and I adore the first image of you as a little girl. A friend used a picture of herself as a little girl- as her business card. If I had a photo like you have here..I would do that too.

How nice that I can now put a pretty face with a sweet soul, Carole! :) You are just adorable, girl! I don't know what your hair looked like before, but your style and the hi-lights look great on you. I know what you mean about looking more and more like your mother as the years fly by. I feel the same way. There's no stopping it...so we just might as well embrace it and love the person God made us to be! ♥

Hi Carole,
I am LOVING your highlights and that lovely photo of you....you are braver than me as mine was out of focus purposely !!!!
.... and, I love the first photograph. I have one of me at the same age and I am in a sentry box at Windsor Castle looking exactly the same.....my mum and dad said that I was a real misery that day !!
You look fantatic and you should be very pleased with your new look.
Thanks so much for your lovely comment and birthday wishes.....I'm still celebrating !! Will email ASAP. XXXX

.....that was meant to be...' you look fantastic ' NOT fantatic !!!! I don't know what the matter with me is lately. I always check my spelling before I hit the post comment button but there is always a mistake. That's what turning 60 does for you !!!!

Carole! You're beautiful!!! The hair and color looks great! This posting pictures of ourselves is difficult. I've done it once. There is a blog I follow called ornamental by Nina Bagley. She photographs herself all of the time. It gives me confidence. I'm so glad you took this step. For you, and for all of us! It really is nice to have a face to go along with the personality.

Hi Carole,

I must have missed this post, you are beautiful and love the new hairdo.
It is so neat to see you when you were a sweet little girl, growing up and now.
So neat to be able to put a face to Maynardgreenhouse blog, and such a beautiful face and Lady.
