it's almost here

       Hey how are you all?
I just wanted to do a post just to let you know that I've been
thinking of  you all.
This week has been a bit hectic and as I'm doing this I'm feeling guilty for
not get more work done.

Holy moly getting ready to reopen on Saturday and I
feel so unprepared but
hey that's nothing new.

Just found out that the grower I've been
buying our pansies from
won't have them ready for sale for another
10 days. Seems all the snow bogged him down
and he planted them 2 weeks later then normal.
( I think it was the price of oil that may have changed his plans)
uggh not enjoying the extra cost either.
Why we changed our growing schedules
 too a few yrs ago.

So even though our cats are getting a lot of rest we
haven't been.
Charlotte is thinking " can't you people get something more
comfy for my head to lay on but these trays?...I tell ya!
the amenities here are not what they used to be.

I'm sure you've all been busy too
cleaning up the yards after the mess of this Winter,
some spring cleaning, getting your taxes prepared (uggh)  or
maybe just spending time outside enjoying some of the
wonderful weather we had last week.
I here we're getting a little snow tomorrow...
not much just an inch or so.
Just enough to remind us that Spring can
be fickle.

This is a hyacinth that never found it's way in the ground
like it was supposed too.

It was from last Spring.

It hung on to the gravel and made it's way anyways.

When I noticed it I quickly
gave it a more premanent place.

I guess that's what we all want.

A place where we can be loved and cared for.

Take care of one another.....
the news these days has made me feel
so fortunate for all I have.

Absolutely... I'm really feeling the need for a more permanent [or should i say agreeable] place.. but being aware of the news makes you selfish to think that way..

Will be thinking of you this week.. ciao xxxx Julie

Hi Carole, The picture of sweet Charlotte is so adorable! I could just grab and hug her :-).
Yesterday we've had the first lovely spring day and I saw lots of crocus blooming. Hopefully the predicted snow in your area will be gone soon.
Have a great reopening day!

Julia

Good Wednesday morning to you Carole!

I've been looking for Pansies without any luck. It seems a bit early but I'm just so anxious for a dose of Spring! The weather people say we're about 10 degrees below normal and it definitely feels it.

Good luck on opening day! Give gorgeous Charlotte a kiss for me : )

Good Luck on opening day, I just know you and George will have everything looking fabulous when you open the doors! We have ice today, but last week Max's chore was to pick up all of the toys and gloves he "lost" in the snow over the winter! Maybe by next week we can get a bit of spring cleaning done outside, for now I am working on the inside :) Happy Wednesday! xoxo

Hey Carole,

I know all your hard work will pay off when you open this weekend! I'm sure it all looks beautiful. Please post lots of pictures so I cam dream. I've only done a little gardening so far, as my energy level is still the pitts.

I think we skipped "Spring" here in Florida...it's already in the high 80's (too hot for me).

Take care my friend,
Susie

Good luck on opening day!!! I heard 6 inches of snow here. The kids already have a 1/2 day because of it. Haven't been out to clean the yard yet but really need to. Have fun:)

I know that this is indeed the start of a busy busy season for you. I know that your efforts will be so appreciated - I can hardly wait to view another wonderful growing season here on your blog~~

poor Charlotte does look a bit vexed. She just misses all the attention with you two running around like crazy.

I will hold good thoughts for a pretty day and for scads of folks to venture forth and want to plant. : D

I know that soon you will have glorious blooms to share.

Isn't wonderful how that single bulb found a way to bloom regardless of where it landed.
Hope you have a great opening day surrounded by all those lovely plants...

Have a great opening! I love visiting all the garden shops in Spring and Summer. It's so relaxing and I just love flowers. That little Hyacinth reminds you of just how powerful nature is.

After two weeks of beautiful weather and a fun time planting, we got a little snow yesterday and it's been raining alot too. Just as you said, a reminder of the fickleness of Spring. I'm hoping my plants can take the cold :-)
Blessings,
Marcia
P.S. Please pray for my nephew Jordan. He was seriously injured in Afghanistan two days ago. His name is Jordan.
Thanks so much.

Good luck with your opening. I'm having my husband's birthday party so I wont be able to be there but I will visit soon. Your post and your shop look like a place where one knows they will be loved and cared for. Beautiful!

It is amazing how cats can look still so comfortable, even on a hard surface.
That bulb had the right idea, make do with what you've got.
Ebbie and I wish you a very successful Season.
Watching my rose Zehirine Drouhin I bought from you last year for the first signs of live...nothing yet.
We got a good amount of snow again. It is still around, UGGH.
Wishing you and George lots of good business,
hugs, Evi
