It's no surprise to the people that know me that white flowers are my favorite. Though I have liked many other colors in the past. For a time I loved all the jewel tone colors...deep purples, cranberry, deep orange since it looks so good against our dark green painted house. To be honest I've liked and experimented with all colors of flowers for myself at home. But I seem to come back to white every couple of years. I just never tire of it. Maybe it's because I'm surrounded by color all day long that I enjoy the simplicity of it. I guess I'm borrowing that thought from interior decorators who often have white interiors for themselves so they can be home and not always be over thinking their space. Or is that over simplifying it?
What are your favorite colors???? and why?

White Iris
White Irises are one of my favorite flowers. Fleur de lis as the french call them. I wish I knew what the symbolism was in ancient french courts and why they used it? I found a poem the other day that reveals the reason they may have used this magficent flower. See what you think?
A White Iris
Tall and clothed in samite,
Chaste and pure,
In smooth armor,
Your head held high,
In it's helmet,
Of silver:
Jean D'Arc riding
Among the sword blades!
Has Spring for you
Wrought visions,
As it did for her
In a garden?

Beautiful pictures and Poem!!
Have a beautiful weekend!
Hugs~T
The white Iris is so pretty. I agree with you so much, white flowers are my favorites and always have been. As long as I can remember, the color white has been my favorite. My family gave up long ago calling me boring since I wouldn't change my answer in "what would you like for Christmas?" always "something white". I am so glad to have found your blog a while back and I enjoy your beautiful posts.

Hi Carole,
The white Iris is striking--I don't think I've ever seen white before. It's beautiful, and somewhat calming.
Have a wonderful weekend--don't work too hard.

Hi Carole,
Did you see my white iris a few posts back? They are almost startling aren't they? I love white but I also love blue and grey and pink!!Can't really pick a favorite...commitment issues I guess!
Hope to see you in a few weeks at the Garden Tour!
Be well,
Laura

White flowers are so pretty. I think they are actually really prominent and stand out so well when the sun goes down. I also like pink and purple flowers too.

I love white flowers especially iris. My parents had a home and garden shop in the 1950's and the look and smell of the iris in bloom was heaven! I have white peonies in my post today. xo Joan

Voilà encore des fleurs magnifiques !Comme elles sont délicates et cette fois encore , on peut dire merci à Dame Nature !
Thank you Carole. At least you're in a creative business and your blog is beautiful!!!
Hi Carole, When I bring flowers into my home, they are always white. The white Iris are lovely. I appreciate your stopping by my blog and hope you will come again.

I hope it doesn't upset you too much but my figurine has been dismantled as I will use his arms legs and head in differant projects. There was already a big chip in the base though. I know my husband gets upset when I deconstruct objects. He's always thinking they might be worth money. I tell him I'm trying to make them worth money in my art.
