Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!
I hope yours was as wonderful as ours!
The weather couldn't have been any nicer.
We had stayed open til 2 in the afternoon but mostly to get our
usual routine done.
We had planned on having a picnic by the beach but then decided we'd go home,
whip up a few batches of bread and have a late lunch.
Much nicer then yesterday
when we never had any lunch due to being so busy.

I took my camera with me just in case.
This rock reminded us of a frog hut .....but for a gigantic frog.
I had never noticed it before. I wish we had raked this area out in the fall it...it's where we have a huge patch of myrtle that's just starting to bloom.
I don't dare disturb it now and knock all the flower buds off.

While George got started making lunch Nigella and I worked in the garden.

Pulling onion grass.... tons of it.
and catching this hairy bittercress ( cardamine hirsuta) before the seeds spread everywhere.
It's also known as the "Greenhouse weed".
Gosh.. no wonder I have it everywhere.
If you'd like, you can read more about it HERE and how to get rid of it.

One of my other kitties

Nigella getting some well deserved sunbathing in.
Poor girl she's been cooped up in the house all winter and now that we're working all
the time she never gets so enjoy the nice weather,

It was such a treat to be home in the middle of the afternoon in what felt like a
summer day.
Felt oddly unfamilar but wonderful.

I think Nigella enjoyed having us home.

I never wanted to come in even to have lunch.
I hope you all had a wonderful time on Easter and that the weather was as nice where
you are as it was in New England.

Gorgeous gorgeous photos Carole
I just love that one of kitty licking her lips.. funny cat.. she reminds me of our childhood cat.. Well I think she outshines the daffodils.. which look so much nicer in the earth than in a pot or vase.....

Glad you are having wonderful sunshine.. we are having the complete opposite here... autumn has finally showed up for easter.. cooler and wet wet wet.... OK.. Have a fabulous time enjoying spring and don't work too hard.. xxx Julie

Hello Carole,
I Love your photography..the picture of Nigela licking her lips is priceless. I'm glad you were able to get the afternoon off to enjoy the beautiful day. I'm afraid we don't have any gardens to enjoy yet around the farm but hopefully next year we'll be able to take pictures of spring bulbs in bloom. Thank heavens we have two groves of lilacs (soon) and some fruit tree's that are in bloom..that's about the only color we have on the farm right now. We've got our work cut out for us. Enjoy your day and I hope you get some time to enjoy your own gardens again soon. Take care. Maura

Hi Carole
I am back just in time for Easter, I had a small group this year as some of the kids are still in FL for treatments on the twins. I cooked a traditional Easter dinner and the weather was so nice here also, I could hide Easter eggs in the yard for Jesse. He had it made this year as he was the only grandchild here for Easter so he got 34 eggs all filled with toys and candy that my son James filled. It was a nice day. It sounds like you had a very nice day and I wish you many blessings as the rebirth of the year springs forth into new and exciting possibilities.
Love to you

Gorgeous photos, Carole!

It is still quite cold here, and there is a lot of snow on the ground, but the Alpine Pennycress and Artemisia are starting to peek out. My foundation garden dies completely down to the ground in the winter, so the first signs of life are very exciting! :)

Glad you were able to get out and enjoy your Easter!

Hugs,
Zuzu

Carole,

Just lovely photos, what a marvelous kitty!

Now, work with me here. Go look at the rock pic again and see if you can see what I see.I see a turtle lifting up his back shell and looking under it. His head is the small rock looking to the left, you can see the nose and eye part and the tilted rock is his shell.....NO REALLY! Did I eat too much chocolate yesterday?

Lovely, lovely photos Carole!

I didn't know that was Myrtle with the purple flowers. I keep ripping it out! If I don't it gets out of control. Nigella is beautiful. She must love being outside.

We had a wonderful Easter here in NH. Wasn't the weather delightful?!

Dear Carole,
Nigella is the star of the show....never work with children and animals !! I thought for one nasty minute that Nigella had turned to stone !!....but thank goodness, no. It was just a cat garden ornament. It really looks as if Nigella is also enjoying herself. I think that I can see a smile on her face !!
I hope the weekend weather is just as nice. XXXX
