The time has come!

Today was opening day for the Christmas shop.
A soft opening as I think they call it.
We’ve always opened the day after Thanksgiving.
I felt good about being early this year
…..until you realize that I had wanted to open on the 1st of November.
    …OK only 19 days late
      …who’s counting anyways?
crystal orn
I still have so much to price and put out but it’s looking Ok
….so before things start to get bought up I thought I’d share a little with you.
metal bird
It had been so long since I even took a picture that it felt a little odd at first.
Like picking up an old friend…
oh yeah, I remember you. I did have fun trying out a few settings.
Manual!!!! woo hoo
I was afraid I might forget how to post too.
BloggerGods must be good to me tonight
because I’m having none of the usual issues.
crowns on counter
I had these little crowns on the counter ready to be priced. Couldn’t do it last night.
I had such a mess on this counter….that is still not all cleared off but it never really is.
I was going to photograph it last night at 12:30 to show you how awful it was
and show you how I’ve had it for months now.
But I got told from the big Boss that it was time to go….
so I went to town on it right away.

crown
Then suddenly I realized an hour had gone by
…..and yes I was still working on cleaning the counter of all the junk!
But then I thought where the heck is he??
I called him on his cell phone.
No answer!
For some reason I pictured him somewhere lying there hurt.
I think I was just too tired and my mind was going….
so I went out to find him.
I won’t keep you in suspense….
he was fine.
…but our furnace in one of the greenhouses wasn’t.
Figures right??  on the coldest night so far.
Well whatever he did seemed to work.
thank goodness……I know nothing about furnaces….except to hit the reset button.
dress
So needless to say I’m a bit tired today.
…..so I will keep this post short and return with more pictures.
Oh the good thing is we finally heard from our tree guy.
The othergood thing was that we didn’t have to give him a 25% deposit like
all of them expect to hold the order.
So though they were supposed to arrive today they are on their way.
I had a customer who used to sell trees once say to me……
”dealing with wholesale tree sellers was like dealing with a
        Drug Dealer…..haha
(not that I would know about any of that!)
but they can be rather flaky and unreliable!
Ok now that I’ve given you that “pretty image”
      haha
I”ll leave you with these last two
       pretty photos!
   opps I mean 3.

santos

red wreath
And you thought I had no
       Red
bear
Like this little bear I can’t wait
until it’s time to hibernate for the Winter.
Oh I can feel it now. Rolling over in bed and hitting that
        snooze button…..
        for the 10th time!!!!
    Heaven!

( sorry for the small sized font....
I guess blogger wasn't as kind as I thought earlier:)

Hi Carole!

Everything is just gorgeous! As I would expect in your lovely Christmas shop. How I wish I lived closer so I could stop in and visit, browsing all the lovely items you have to offer. Maybe even help price a few things with you ; )

It seems so weird to see so many blogs posting Christmas decor. But it's getting me in the mood!

Oh Carole - these photos are so so beautiful. Your Christmas shop is gorgeous - I would love to be there - and would just walk around and take a million photos! I absolutely love Christmas decor - yours is just stunning! I know your "seasonal" shop will be a huge success.

Sorry about the bad luck with the furnace - I am like you - maybe might not even be able to FIND the reset button. Sure hope it all works out for you there~~

Can't wait to see more photos of the beautiful displays!

Hello Carole! It all looks so beautiful, it's a good thing you took the pictures to share now, because I bet the shop will be bare very soon! I LOVE the santos angels, and the picture with the crowns and the faded background looks like a magazine shot. My friend Julie shared her new JDL Christmas book she got from you with me this week, oh my gosh just gorgeous! She doesn't have a blog, really doesn't even get on the computer much but I have been introducing her to some of my favs on here and when I showed her my JDL well, she had to have her very own... I may have to splurge again myself! Have a wonderful Sunday! Theresa

I'd sure love to visit your Christmas shop. I can't even decide what I like best because everything is so pretty! I'm glad the furnace problem was fixed. When I read that, I thought of the big heaters we used to see in all of the orange groves around when I was a kid.
Blessings,
Marcia

Oh Carole, When I saw on my blogger dashboard that you had blogged about your Christmas shop, a weird sound of anticipation came from my throat. Seriously, I'm totally excited to see your gorgeous pictures of your fantastic shop! It's kind of like Christmas even though I can't visit you personally. I'm sighing and drooling over here, since I love so very many of the items you have for sale. It's hard to pick favorites but I especially love everything with the glitter on including that awesome dressform, then there are the crystal snowflakes, the zinc pots and cans, the three-tiered-basket and the cute bear.
The pretty font you chose for this post is so perfect and matches the pictures so very well! Thank you, dear Carole for making my day :-)!
Big HUGS to you,
Julia

Oh my gosh Carole! I wish I could visit your shop. You have so many beautiful things. Christmas is the one thing that I miss about retail. I used to so love to unpack and ooh and aahh over things I had almost forgotten that I had ordered. I realllly wish you sold online. I know, too much extra work. Anywho....you have excellent taste and I bet you sell down to the walls.

Dear Carole, this is a fantastic shop, you have made.
The first photo is so full of beautifull, and wonderfull items, I would soooooooo love to buy, from you.Like all the gorgeus glittered things,-the swallow so lovely--and the little angel on the ball- oh my--love angels....
Iwould so love to make my own shop look like that, --but here in Denmark, people don`t understand a very white decoration for christmas-well some does, but not on this little island-sigh...so my shop have to be more common----- christmas- so thanks for this wonderland.
Hugs, Dorthe

Carole,

I pored over every shot, locating all the crowns, all the zinc, all the Nicole. I am so happy to see everything and so sad I cannot be in the shop up close and personal.

It all looks amazing. I know you have worked so hard and I'm hoping you have a wonderful season. Please show us more as time allows. The photos are enchanting and enticing.

Glitter crowns on a stick? oh my! hearts a flutter..

Oh so lovely, Carole. Like sweetpea, I love that dress ornament. I like it all but that esp. caught my eye as I'm setting up (well, this week I hope) to sew again for first time in a long time. Back to the trenches but thank you for this prettiness...much needed. xo

NOBODY does a shop for Christmas like you do Carole!!!!! Absolutely magical...every picture!

Our Nurseries here are just having their openings this coming weekend, and they are very, very late. The nursery I used to work at usually has their Christmas opening on Nov. 1st. But, I went the other day to see what they were doing this year and I was so dissappointed. The buyer they now have is not very inspired and it was very dissappointing.
I can't wait for you to share more.
hugs to you...

I love everything!
It has such a warm and cozy feel! I had to blow up a couple of images and really study them! I wish we could sell Santos here! No one gets them!
I think they are so amazing!
The zinc collection had me drooling!
Our trees arrive on Wednesday but I won't be there for the event...we have decided to go to Texas for a break!
I really need one as you probably will too!
Have a Happy, Happy Thanksgiving!
