Finally the 4th

I'm a little late in showing you July4th fireworks....but that's par for me to be a little late
.....ask all my friends:
This year we received parking tickets to get into Waters Edge Inn and Resort.
I thought WOW that's great until we had to get out:))
OY!

I think we'll park on the main road next time
but it was still worth it.

This is the view from the back off the patio.
The planting are really spectacular and the website really shows off it's
great views. It was hard to get a good impression of it from my pictures...
just too many people.

See what I mean.
Crazy!!!!

It's open to anyone who wants to walk from any beach or along rt 1.

Usually we can get a nice view from the top of our greenhouses.
Good thing I'm not toooooo scared of heights....

Not sure why but I made George walk down with me into that crowd.

Then after a few minutes I had enough and we came back up and found a spot out
of the way on the terrace.
Much nicer.
A band was playing some 50's tunes and I ran into some friends.

This is Barb....
I think she's having a good time.
don't ya think?

This guy was a top notch dancer and he had her spinning like a top.

George isn't a dancer so I have to just enjoy watching. boo hoo!
though I still dance....don't get me wrong.

It was very warm and humid that night so viewing the dancing was fine by me.
We were all glowing as Debra likes to call it.

The first fireworks I ever saw was when I was maybe 14 in France.
I think those were the best I ever saw ......not that I remember that much about them
but, hey it was in Paris on Bastille Day which now that I think of it is on Wednesday.
So if you know any French blogs....and I know you do.
Then go wish them a happy Bastille Day.

My favorite is the waterfall one......where you always here the crowd
go AHHHHH!
so pretty

Not my best photography work.
I've come to the conclusion that I'm not good at taken pictures of crowds
or fireworks.
I'm not fishing really.
So now we'll change geers and I'll share with you a picture I saw on my friend Lori's blog
You can see her cute haircut HERE
She brought this picture in for her hairdresser to replicate.
I feel in love with it. It was the last post I read that night.
I wanted to make a photocopy to bring home but George was rushing me to get done
so we could go home.
That night I kept thinking about that picture.
I couldn't get it out of my head.

I'm not an impulsive person normally
except
when it comes to my hair.
Yep at 11:30pm at night I cut my own hair.

What ya think?
aren't I beautiful?

NO NO NO
I can't lie.
This is me!
what a disappointment:)) haha

I could at least have been smiling. But the model wasn't smiling
so I think that was my thought process.
Look sultry!
Didn't work.

Ok now I sound like I'm really fishing for compliments
I'm really not.
So now I've gone from mediocre photos to THIS!!!

You have to know that I always cut my own hair.
I have hairdresser phobia.
That's another post!
My saving grace is that I wear a baseball cap all day long while working.
I have gotten better at styling it since I took this picture.
A girl need PRODUCT!

Are you impulsive???

Don't hate me because I'm beautiful:))
sorry I had to say that.
You think I could have worn something more stylish then a pink T.

Ok this post is just getting silly.
I have tons of boxes that just showed up that needs unwrapping.
Yup, Christmas in JULY!!!!

Have a Good Night
xxx

Hi Carole ~ I never saw the fireworks from The Waters Edge but I think we'll try it next year. We usually go to my sisters on Fairfield Beach - they never disappoint but again...HUGE crowd. Also celebrated Bastille Day in Fairfield Center yesterday - you should check out that celebration sometime. Not quite PARIS though. Im ready for a new haircut too - this one is bringin' me down. Thanks for the silliness - looking forward to getting my JDL mag.

You are hysterical, Carole! I think you did a great job on your hair! It's adorable. And the fireworks look like they were a blast. Bad pun--sorry.

It's good to pop in to see you. Your blog is as gorgeous as ever. I've been away from blogging a lot this summer, and I've been missing it. It feels good to be catching up with all my favorite blogs! xoxo Gigi

Love the haircut, I can't believe you cut it yourself! You my friend are a brave girl! I received my issue of Jeanne d arc. oh my gosh it's beautiful! I am trying to be a really good friend and give it to my girlfriend for her birthday, she could use some cheering up and that is just the ticket! I hope it doesn't turn into one of those comedy skits where I give it to her and she has to pry it out of my hands to open it!!! lol!!! Thanks for the speedy delivery! Theresa

Glad you were able to see the fireworks after you and George got settled on a spot.........The shor hair cut is very nice......IF I had short hair that would be a style for me...........I have always had long, long hair.............not sure if that will change any time soon..............I have natural curly hair and just recently I stared to straighted it........I get a lot of compliments from it now.............Hair is important to us gals................Take care. Carole, You are so funny and too cute! I think you did a pretty good job cutting your hair! I don't have a hairdresser phobia but I just don't like going to have my hair cut. It's so boring to sit on that chair and let someone mess around on my head. It's one year ago that I've seen a hairdresser. From time to time I just cut off the ends a little bit. I would need to go get my hair styled again but I just keep postponing it.
It's a lovely place where you had spent the 4th of July. I don't like crowds either, so I would have joined you on the terrace though :-).
Hugs,
Julia

I love this post! So funny! What great shots of the fireworks.
And I too have a hairdresser phobia! I went 3 years cutting it myself and then one of our regular customers at the store somehow talked me into letting her at it! Now...it's her problem.
Have a wonderful evening!
Blessings,
Donna

OMG I Love that hair cut on you, even with the camera in the spot where your face would be I could tell you look great:) lol I can't believe you did it yourself. I am impulsive about my hair too. Once I get an idea about doing something different with it I become compulsive until I make the phone call to my girlfriend (who is a hair stylist) and schedule it. Come to think of it, I am just impulsive anyway;)haha
Glad you had a great 4th of July in that crazy crowd. Talk to you soon. Brimfield is this week, are you going?!!!!

you look adorable!! funny...i cut my own too. except for the very back ("mr. Dan" cuts that...he's my hubby) "mr. Dan" also highlights my hair. don't tell his golfing buds! i have had long hair for years and last year i had it cut to shoulders, by a pro...now i am growing it back, because i have been to 4 different hairdressers and they can't get it right!! besides i miss putting it up in a pony tail. anyway, if i was as cute as you i'd be all over a shorter do. looks like you had a blast on the fourth...that crowd is small compared to the 100's of thousands that venture to downtown nashville...which is why we don't! ha. thanks for sending my jeanne d arc! i just love how you added that beautiful ribbon and tag to it :0)

What a cute haircut! I love fireworks right next to the water, they become magical...my family and I sneak over to Sea World a lot and watch them from the waters edge. Take care, Martha

You are a brave girl! The only thing I cut are my bangs... and I took cosmotology - years ago!
You look great, nice to have a face with your posts but for some reason that is not the face I have pictured...really people should post pictures!!! It is like a dj on the radio, they are never as you picture them!
The fireworks are great... I love fireworks! I love to set them off too, a little pyro in me.
Have a great week my friend
Blessings

Carole you are so funny. I love your hair! I had mine cut like that just before I went to Farm Chicks and it is growing out so cute. I will be keeping this style for sure. (at least for awhile) And you might not be fishing...but I'm going to bite anyway. you are too cute and I loved your pictures of the fireworks! Man, those pictures you took overlooking the water are too die for! You live in such a gorgeous place.

Hey Carole
My first day back online in a week or so... missing everyone!! ..Look at you with your new 'do'... you did a great job.. so cute!!! I didn't realise you were blonde!!! me too.. Say.. wasn't your hair long last year???

I love these photos of the 4th... All your location shots always look exactly as I imagine them to be,... and of course my ideas of Connecticut come from tv and movies.. in fact this looks very similar to where we have fireworks here.. Australia Day etc.. only the architecture is different... Glad you got to get out and enjoy some of the days events..

Ok... will catch up soon.... I've become the world's slower blogger/emailer... Moved out of the old place but not unpacked the new yet... my old bones need a rest!! Take care dear Carole.. xxx Julie

OH,, and Barb looks like she is having a fantastic time.. good for her!!!

Hi there Carole,
I'm just back from a week with my sister whilst our husbands went to LeMans ! Had a lovely time but, now I'm all over the place with my commenting etc.
Looks like you had a great July 4th. We were in the US once on July 4th and were on a boat on Smith Mountain Lake somewhere in Virginia, and we watchrd the fireworks on the lake....terrific memories.
I am loving your hair, and you look just like the inspiration photograph.....you really do. I have had long hair all of my life and would need counselling and a psychiatrist standing by if I was to have it cut that short !!!! haha.
Hope all's well with you and that George is mending nicely ! Will email soon. Lots of love. XXXX

Carol, first I think your haircut is cute. Secondly, it grows again. I never understood the hysteria some girls feel, if it is not what they envisioned. Well you know me, it's
always ....just cut it short, please.........!
Now to the fireworks. You did great with the pictures!!!!!!! I felt like I was there.
Don't like crowds, so I would have done the same.
Did not go at all, because I fell and hurt my leg. So, I could not have gotten off the grass.
Ours is at a little pond in town, nice but your view was spectacular.
Hugs for today, Evi
PS. So you are starting to like red..........?
