100th Post Giveaway!!!

Well it's almost here...... my 100th post. It's been long in coming. Having officially started my blog on January 08. It wasn't until February of this year that I really started blogging in any sense of the word. It was at first an inexpensive ( well free) way to have something on the internet for our business....hence the name. I just wasn't motivated to post anything. I'm not a good saleperson.....ask anyone. I'd much rather talk about movies, decorating, antiquing or anything other then selling someone a plant or a product. It was Laura ( 52 Flea) who helped re-energized me when she began her own blog. A blog junky like myself we both enjoyed reading similar blogs. I told her if I could set one up anyone could. So there we were posting together. Laura everyday and me... not so everyday just commenting on each others posts like nobody else was watching. This went on for awhile and then one day we had a comment from someone else and then a follower.......OMG!!! How exciting!!! then we had 2. For a little while Laura removed her followers list. Thinking it looked pathetic with just me on it. Thinking back she was right.....I guess we've all been there. That's probably why I feel a need to comment or join a blog that has just started and has only a couple of followers.....plus they always write back and say such nice things!

If you know Laura...and most of my followers do, you know how wonderful and creative she is. Her posts are most always about her extensive antique collections and she has a way of making us connect to these things and bringing back a memory of them to us like no other. It's been amazing to get to see this other side of her. Even her closest friends and family members have gotten to see a side of her that they'd never seen before. Being a women in the corporate world which she is, you often don't get to express your creative side, your feminine side, your nostalgic side. This is what blogging has done for many of us out there. I for one have enjoyed being more creative photographically and my typing has gotten better though my spelling isn't all that good still and I apoligize for that( even with spell check)
I've enjoyed sharing my life with all of you and hope to get to know more of you.

******

Laura has just announced her 200th post giveback and the winner will have her be their own personal shopper on this Fleamarket tour. So rush over there right now and leave a comment!!!

Laura has been kind enough to invite me and few other friends to this wonderful Fleamarket in upstate New York called Madison Bouckville this week and stay at her lakehouse. Just Girls Gone Wild!!!! Junking!!!! that is....I think we'll be keeping our clothes on!

*******

Alright if you're still with me after that visual in your mind.

This is my Give Away!!!!

The 3rd issue of Jeanne d'Arc Living. I remember the first time I laid eyes on a Scandinavian blog I nearly fell off my chair. I remember exactly how I found it. It was through a talented artist called Ulla who's blog is called Ullabenulla..... Don't know what that means but it's fun to say. Anyways she talked about being a fan of Swedish and French blogs and had a link which went to Min Lilla Veranda. I was completely mesmerized by it and sat there with my face glued to the screen. I probably looked at every post she ever posted just looking at the pictures and jumping from blog to blog. I thought this is what I've been waiting for. This is my friend Paula's house and the look I'd been doing in my shop for the last 5 yrs. Of course at the time Paula didn't have a computer. How am I going to send her these links????? Every chance I got I'd send these to people I knew. I have to say most did not get my enthusiasm. Not that they told me outright but you just knew. So I went on looking at them while wondering why they seemed to have the same pictures in them. I hadn't completely realized that there was a book and then a magazine and then a company who made all these wonderful products. Image how happy I was when I realized that there were other people in the US who embraced this look too.
Ok I've gone on enough!!!!

Here are some of the incredible pictures in this magazine which is really more like a soft cover book.
it's written in Danish but it doesn't matter the images more then make up for it.
Most of the ideas are things that most people could accomplish using ordinary items around the house. Just going to your fridge and pulling out some vegetables will work.

It also gives you websites to places that sell their products.

*******

Now as an added plus to receiving the magazine the winner will receive some fleamarket items from our trip that have a Jeanne d'Arc Living look about them. I just know I'll find a little bit of Scandinavia in Upstate New York (Farm Country)

This will give us two people to shop for!!! What FUN!

So the hunt is on to find the perfect treasures to send the lucky winner!!!

So all you need to do is comment on this page and if you'd like mention it on your blog and I'll enter you twice. The winner will be announced on the day of my 100th post. ......5 posts from now. ?????

Oh and if you'd like, in your comment mention when you first heard or saw Jeanne d' Arc Living style.

Good luck!!!!
and thanks for stopping by!
XO
Carole

Congratulations on your 100th post! What a lovely giveaway you have going on here :)
I am always amazed at the power blogging has to open doors to long lasting friendships, to the surprise of meeting kindred spirits, and finding out tht we are after all not that much different from one another-all appreciators of the beauty and the simplicity of everyday life.
May your continued blogging enrich your life even more.

you are so kind to think of all of your readers like that (certain individuals - ME! - didn't do much at all.....what a slacker I am!) anyhow, please do not include me in this- for I have already had mine on order ;)

that was pretty funny - all that you said on this post - but I have to be honest.....I could shed a tear just thinking of how much fun you'll have with Laura at her lake house.....when she posts it...it is well.......dreamy.......

have a great time though, and seriously try not to think of how you both have absolutely crushed my feelings.....

you seriously know I'm kidding right?

Hi Carole,
Congrats on 100 (or nearly 100) posts! It was nice hearing the history of how you and Laura started out and how far you've come. I can't tell you how much I wish I lived a little closer so that I might run into you at the antique fair. What a blast you will all have while hunting for treasures! I am with you and agree, you'll find a little bit of Scandinavian treasures while out and about. I find things like the vintage ones shown in their magazine quite a bit and even mentioned I was going to put them on my website, but guess what? Yes, I decided to keep them for myself! Good luck (you won't need it) finding some wonderful things, I can not wait to hear all about it. Oh, I'll point to you on my blog later tonight. And I found Jeanne d'Arc Living while searching Google (since I love Joan of Arc antique goods ;)
