White Wednesday

I couldn't help but include our "white breakfast" from yesterday...a great way to start our first "closed day" of the season.
I promised George I wouldn't put it on the "blog" while I got him to stir the batter. Just a little "white" lie (no pun intended)

I tried mine with "white" sugar. I really liked it better, while George drenched his with Vermont maple syrup. Mine reminded me more like a big flat warm blueberry muffin. Delicious!!!! and great way to start the day.....but by 11 I was already hunger. Too much starch and not enough protein. I missed my 2 eggs I eat everyday.

OK on to the pretties!!

White comes in so many shades.......as anyone whose gone out to pick a gallon of white paint would attest to. Don't you just love the names of the paint chips...... angelic white, guernsey cream, fluffy white clouds..... etc. I'd like to be the person whose job it is to name the paint. I wonder what that job pays???
To me the white palette includes also the darker more aged look of white. This is a doll in Paula's bedroom made by my friend Ginny. I love the little truft of hair on top of her head. I can't picture her with any other hair. A face only a mother could love....isn't that the saying???

I'm sure Paula just loves her just the way she is.
There's nothing that looks better than garden pieces painted on white maybe because it stands out so well against natures colors, yet at the same time blending in so well.

W for white.

I really didn't notice the W til after I put the picture up. How lucky was that.

A little nature brought indoors ....the foxglove, the bird, and the lamp in the shape of a flower.

A basket of wool made from alpaca. This is from a festival last week in Old Lyme called En Plein Aire at The Fort Griswold Museum,
that I need to post sometime in the future. I bought a bundle of this wool...is bundle the right term??? I don't know what I'm going to do with it yet, but it was so soft and irresistable I had to buy it.

The garlic was a sucessful harvest for the farmers...there was tons of it....much bigger than mine.

White linens in a cozy little wall basket. Can we ever have enough white linens?

White textiles

Grungy white at it best!!!
