Counting Sheep

A few months back I ordered some of the cutest sheep from
my friend Susie of
she had just opened her Esty shop and I just couldn't resist them.
Have I ever told you how much I love sheep?
oh maybe I have.

She sent it along with the cutest card
of what else??

Sheep... of course!

I was so excited when I got them that I immediately
took pictures of them (under the harsh
lights of the shop).
I wasn't thrilled how they turned out.
I guess I'm fussy so I wanted to reshoot them.

By the way I also bought these knobs.
 I didn't have a particular dresser to
use them on but I liked them and they were well priced.
I figured I'd find a use for them sometime.
Well after all these months I finally got around
to taking my sheep home.

I found a place for them in the upstairs foyer
on our printers cabinet. Don't you think I should paint this??
I think I just need a push to do it. I'm not a fan of Oak!
I used to use this piece to put my plant tags in
at work but it seemed too good for that purpose
and plus the drawers were too small.
I stash jewelry parts in there now.

It becomes sort of the catch all. This gave me a reason of finally
straighten it out.
I set it up to show you the things Susie had lovingly wrapped
 my goodies in.
Wasn't that sweet of her???
Thanks Susie.

My initials on the card
from metal stencils.

I noticed Susie had just added some new items in the
her Etsy shop so you might want to go take a look.

Oh I definetely would not paint them-even if you don't like oak-they're value and patina and they will make a nice contrast to other pieces! Your little sheep are super cute!

Love those sweet sheep!

I'm usually an advocate of painting, but in this case you would lose that nice patina & wood grain~

your sheep are delightful...i love them too because they remind me of my beloved bichon frise who lived to be 17 1/2 years old. i vote no on painting the cabinet...

Hi sweet Carole! I love your goodies from Susie's shop!!! The sheep are so precious ~ and the cabinet? What about staining it darker, to like a dark walnut? I'm just LOVING it!!! I hope all is well with you and yours sweetie, hugs and love, Dawn

Hey Carole....well how surprised was I when I saw this post! Thanks for the kind words and Etsy plug too..

I'm glad you have the sheep...I loved them so, but just needed to thin out some stuff. Love the printers cabinet..that's a hard call. I'm not a fan of oak either, and it would look really cool painted, so I say go for it (in your spare time!).

Happy White Wednesday and thanks again....you're too cool!

Hi Carole! I have a thing for sheep too, at one time our dining room only had sheep pictures in it and then one day... after blogging and seeing some of the amazing white rooms and getting inspired I changed the whole thing. Now the pictures are here and there through the house and I like it so much better.
What a gorgeous cabinet, I can't say whether to paint or not, I'm not a fan of oak either but when something has that patina it would be hard to paint it. Good luck deciding!
Have a fabulous WW! Theresa

Lovely pictures, I really enjoyed them again. I like sheep, although I prefer the wool to make nice things of. It is a wonderful cabinet, but there is only one person qualified in making the decision whether to paint it or not; You! Good luck ;-). Sandra

Cute sheep and handles. She was so nice to add all the extra fun things too. And your printers cabinet is great:) I have a weakness for things with little drawers or cubbies. Will you let us see photos if you do decide to paint it;) ?

I'm not a fan of oak either, but I do like the look of a single piece of dark wood with all the whites. I wouldn't paint it, but that's just me.
I guess you'll be busy now counting sheep...how cute are they? You need to stop over at Debra's Common Ground blog (if you haven't already). She has the most fantastic collection of sheep I've ever seen....and I ain't wolfing ewe!

Carol, I love the sheep and yes, I would paint the chest white. Much prettier that way!
By the way, loved the way you wrapped my magazine.

Hi Carole! thanks for you nice comment - and well wishes on the baby!!!

I too love sheep - mostly pictures - but my daughter wants to get one to raise - for the wool I think - that would be too cool to have heaps of raw wool in a wooden bowl - just sitting there looking pretty :)

Anne Marie
