Booty Good

My booty as I called it was pretty good the other day.
Not shiny gold like a pirates booty
and not given away or stolen like
the term suggests.
Somethings were inexpensive and some..... well,
 maybe overpriced
compared to some of the acquisitions of bloggers out there.
Boy some of you out there really get some great deals.

This is the bulk of what I acquired.
Not bad for a few hours.

I have to tell you a quick story.
Our first stop was a booth where I saw a wire basket.
I politely asked him how much.
He said $35. So without saying anything or making any faces
( I swear )
proceeded to put it back down.
He then said 30, then 25.
I still didn't like it that much. It was rather ordinary
and really thought it wasn't worth more then 15 but I wasn't going to even mention
what I thought it was worth.

He then yelled out to the crowd
"Tire kicker"
and pointed to me!!!
Everyone of course turned to look at him....
None of which were in his booth btw.
I never looked around to see if they were
looking at me or at him.
I hoped that he embarrassed himself in their eyes.
Who knows?

All I kept thinking was
Wow what a way to start the day.

Later when we were going by him Deanna heard him
doing it to someone else.
I wonder what kind of day HE had?

The good thing is that the shopping experience improved
immensely for the rest of the day.

I stuck to my usual colors of white and neutral tones.

A few simple tins

I don't really know why I liked these. They were mixed in with a pile of metal handles.
Some kind of marble piece that I can only think was from a fancy lamp or
chandelier....maybe?

various numbers....sorry Laura no 2's in the pile...I really looked.

These I just fell in love with. I wished she had more I would
have bought all she had.

Of course now a days this kind of bead work is often done in India.
Nice but not like these.
I could have swearn that I had 5 of these.
Oh well, it'll show up someday...
or not!

These oversized faucet handles I bought after seeing the
ones Debra showed me she bought.
She wanted to use them as candle holders...
That Debra's so clever!

I hadn't bought an alabaster lamp in a long time.
This ones pretty small.
Cute!
And metal wall candle holder

Crystals sold by the foot and also bought a small bolt of brown
toile fabric along with some gauzy white and tan bolt too.

New members of my ever expanding family.
George keeps telling me to stop buying these but
someone has to love and cherish them.

I can pretend that this baby girl might have worn these shoes
though they're not that old.

Ideal Baby Shoes from Danvers Mass.
Danvers is right outside Salem Mass.
where we stayed a couple of time while visiting at Halloween time.
Always love seeing the "real witches" walking the streets.

Look at the size of that bouquet.
Someone next to me commented that she looked
just like their mothers wedding portrait.
I wondered if the shorter length was popular then?

My real score was this mesh bag!!!

Love Love Love it!
I now have 3.

Nothing fancy just a bait bucket.

Too bad I can't make a bag out of it
hum!

This gentleman looked like he'd make a fine fishermen.
Not in that fine suit though.

Nigella checking out the new members of the family.
She can sniff out the cat lovers.
.

She gave her approval,
that's good don't want any trouble!

Girl you did get some good stuff, oh I mean booty! Lol! Love it all! The marble balls are from a bunch of alabaster grapes! Probably broke off of a much larger bunch!
Have a great weekend!

Hi Carole,

Love all the treasures you got today ~ lovely to see Nigella checking out the old family photos and the numbers are fabulous.
How rude of that Man - don't think he would have had a very good day treating customers like that.

Hope that you are having a great week

What a creep that guy was. Probably didn't sell much with an attitude like that. You found some really great stuff. I swear, we just don't see such great things here. At any price! Kitty approved! Yep, it was some GREAT stuff!

Carole,

Oh how I wish I could go with you..though I might embarrass you with what I would have said to that guy...The nerve! I would have said....Hey buddy, *&^%4 and by the way ^%$%#$% and take your &^%$%# and *&^%$#. But i would have smiled sweetly while saying it just to confuse his muddled little pea brain....

When you guys flea, do you eat well also? That is always a major portion of our flea-ing in CA . Of course now that I'm trying to pare down I shouldn't be looking OR eating for that matter : (

I'll look forward to seeing what else you find tomorrow. Have a blast sweety.

Better than a pirate's booty!! In the south, your booty is your backside. That vender needed a swift kick to his booty!

What a lovely blog you have! I was doing some blog hopping and found you.

WOW, fabulous stuff! I want to visit that flea market! Nothing makes me more thrilled than a good find and I want to tell you that I am thrilled to have found your blog. I will be back!

What kind of weird sales strategy is that? That guy must be nuts! I'm glad he didn't ruin your day.
Your treasures are awesome, Carole! You hit the jackpot! Over here it would take me more than one visit to a flea market to find such an amount of goodies. I love that basket and the bait bucket and I also would have bought the tins, the beaded flowers, the faucet handles etc. Can one ever have enough adopted ancestors?
Have fun again at the antique fair!
Hugs to you,
Julia

What wonderful treasures you have unearthed! Love that bait basket!!! And that man yelling "Tire kicker" was totally out of line and I am sure he had a bad day!! It is called "shopping" sir. Hunting for a good bargain! Buying only when you must have and the price is right. He had neither for you that day.
Can't wait to see your treasures you are unearthing today?!

Wow, you really scored. I bought a whole pile of old photos from a guy at the last flea market I went to also. they were all from the same family and had names written on the backs....kinda sad in a way that no one would want them anymore.

I'm sure you're glad Fall is on it's way.

Take care,

Kathleen

I love how everything looks placed together...serendipity! Tot's right...those would have came from a cluster of grapes. Wouldn't that bait basket make a cool light fixture or maybe just to hold the worms for that early bird?
Debbie
P.S. Thanks for the link to the PMblog. I checked it out but I won't be able to play along. We'll be gone to Warrenton during that time.

Loved all the gooddies, but loved Nigella best.
