Brimfield part 1

First morning driving to Brimfield
leaving at 5:30 am
and this was the sky. I just had to take a picture of it.
Don't worry no accidents were caused by doing this, which is why it
took me 10 pics to get one decent one.

This will end the color portion of this post because the rest is
 devoted to all things
white, chippy and metally.
Tuesday was the first day of the show and after
I got off my little back road
from Holland, Mass. it was bumper to bumper.
I probably shouldn't be telling you the back road in.
I rather like being the only one on that road early in the morning.
I could feel the excitement of all the early shoppers
in the air.

I parked in one of my favorite fields....Quaker Acres.
Not the biggest but I can always find something wonderful there.
This birdhouse was in that field but unfortunately
it didn't come home with me.

nor this beauty....wow and so big.

This is The Red Door Antiques booth.
I knew I liked it the moment I walked inside.

Interesting display ideas. Chicken feed doubles as a plate rack.

Now I'd be lying if I told you that all the booths in Brimfield were decorated with flair.
Some are nothing more then "stuff on a tarp"
lets be honest.
Those are not the ones I like to photograph and I don't think you'd want to see them either.
Hey not that I haven't bought from
Stuff on a tarp
...I'm no snob.
but when you find a booth that really takes it to that other level
you really stand up and notice.
And this is one of those times.

so enjoy!

small cabinet stripped down to bare wood.

One thing that I really liked was the ephemera sold at this booth.

no the ironstone was not 3 for $.10
but we can dream.

Cool watch parts

And gears which I bought to use as knobs.

Loved all the flash cards. She had numbers, arithmetic problems, words and sentences.
One lady was patiently looking at all these at the table.  I looked for a little while but couldn't decide.
Maybe I needed one that said
"patience"
just to remind myself during the day!
remember I work with my husband.

he would say he needs to remind himself
 for me.
Ha

Ok my computer says I only have 10% power left.
Left the power cord at home!!!!

see ya again soon,
Carole

Oh Carole,
That sunrise is just beautiful. One of the advantages of being up and out early !!...... about the only one, although, I guess the earlier you get there, the more of the good stuff that you get !
Whenever you go to Brimfield or any of the other markets, I want to be there with you. There is so much good stuff ! I want a little bit of all of it. Your photogrphs are wonderful. I especially like your treatment of the birdhouse ones. Can't wait to see where you're off to next. I hope that it's an early morning one as I'd like to see another sunrise !! XXXX

I know that road from Holland. My best friend and I stayed down that road for the May Brimfield show. We traveled from Texas to fulfill anearlyn 20 year old bucket list dream. We've already made plans to attend next May as well. Your post was so enjoyable. Red Door antiques also does the Round Top show here in Texas and she always has great stuff. I can't wait to see more of your posts.

Smiles,

Carol
