Relishing

2

These hydrangeas had been in my kitchen since late Summer
….or maybe it was Fall?

Now that I think of it I may have picked the last of the good ones
right before my niece came to visit last October.

I wanted to brighten up the house with a few blossoms from my own garden.
They had given me pleasure for a long time but now they

had faded too much from being in the sunlight in front on my

kitchen window

and it was time to let them go.

The water was still in the bottle all murky and full of sediment.
As I dumped out the water and was about to throw them in the trash I noticed green shoots
and roots had developed.
It’s not uncommon for that to happen and we root hydrangeas all the time….
just not this way.

So I will keep them a little longer….

It made me realize that seemingly imperfect things are often what can give us the most pleasure.

I just noticed that when I wrote my watermark on the last photo I
typed my name wrong.
grren instead of green.
Opps

I guess I will relish in my imperfection!

I wasn't going to post these photos after I really looked them
over.....just too washed out, kinda blah and I think I took them on a cloudy day.

Then I remembered the point I was trying to make.....
it's OK to be imperfect.

so there you go.....

Inspiring

We use the word inspired a lot in blogland.

I wonder sometimes what that word really means.

I think we all want to inspire.
To motivate.
To connect with others.

I know I fall short in the inspiration dept.

Often actually...
and make a mess of this blog of mine...
embarrassingly so.
( have to improve my proofreading skills)

In real life I fall short too
whether it's projects, planting schedules, orders
etc.
  the list is long.

What's important is to keep pushing on
.....to not give up,
to find what excites you and makes you
want to keep learning.

Seeing all the talented women in blogland makes me strive to
be better everyday.

I thank you for that and for

Inspiring me.

Texture Tuesday and I love a good fake!

I just loved the texture Kim sent this week that I had to give it a go.
Please check out her blog  and the other participants for more texture art.

I had a little more fun with them then just adding the texture.
While looking at my email from Miss Martha( Martha Stewart)
I spied a beaded flower tutorial.
I thought
ahhh I can make that???
of course I had no idea what they were talking about.
I even read the instructions to George who was equally puzzled.
( don’t really think he was listening)
Maybe you can understand it better then me

martha bead flower
see ….pretty!
So I turned to my friends at Youtube!!!
and did eventually figure out what they were trying to teach me.
I need visual ad! don’t you?
Anyways, then I decided to look for instructions on Photoshop just for the heck of it,
one thing just leads to the next!
and found this video on faking depth of field.
I love me a half blurry pic!
Did you already know how to do this?

I’ll admit it seemed easy at first but I kept messing it up.
The examples I tried it on were probably not the best but I was in a hurry.

Ok what am I forgetting???
That those are Carpet Roses in the photos.
I had cut them to see that there really was a difference in the petals of the red, pink and scarlet.
We planted the pink and red ones (before they flowered) for a customer.

He came to tell me that the red ones were single petaled and the pink double.

I thought he was crazy.
But he was right…..
and the scarlet ones are even more doubled.
Who knew?  : )

Golden Blue

I thought I'd better post soon before I forget how!
haha

I hate to always complain about the 4 letter word.
You know that "B" word.

Ok I'll say it

BUSY!
I won't make excuses plus it's not appropriate at a blog party!
right??? no one wants a complainer at a party.

We just want to have fun and have a few laughs...

have some chips and dip...

and some refreshing yummy cocktails.

Ok, its not that kind of party but you get what I mean.

for Texture Tuesday....
while it still is Tuesday.

and now that it's Thursday
joining Tracie at

The texture of the week is called Golden.

I thought it went well with all the blues I see around here.

I sometimes get a strange look when my customers
ask me for a blue flowering plant and
they say...you mean that purple one?

I don't see them as purple.
It's "blue" in the plant world.

Hard to find true blue.....
or at least enough of them.

Ok trying to find a clever segway to why I put a picture of

Coco, but I can't.
I think I had a good one last night when I started this post:)
but it's gone now.

Yes, she's not true "blue" either....
but I did use a blue filter over a desaturated photo and took the
texture off her sweet baby skin.

That was a statue she was cleaning.
Every time her and her twin sister come over they
pile rocks on his head.
They get all giggly with each other.
It's so funny to watch.

Ahh to be 2 again!
or maybe 22!

Thanks Kim and Tracie for the great party and for all of you that stop by my little blog.

You all mean so much to me.

( thanks Janet for reminding me it was time for a new post)
