A quieter time

As I was driving one cloudy April day I stopped by to visit the sheep and with their new babies.
Only 2 this time.

They were curious and came right up to greet me.
They get a lot of visitors on this busy road.

I had no treats for them so they nibbled on this wild barberry bush. It's on the  invasive species list by the way.
Maybe we all need to have sheep to munch it down to keep
 it under control?

Isn't that the sweetest face you've ever seen?

I swear they will try to eat anything!

This one is a little tough!

Thanks for letting me share a quiet and unhurried moment I had
back in early April.

Life has been in hyper mode ......

can't wait to get back to normal:)

whatever that is?

Sweet Susie Sheep and White Candy Canes

The other day I received a package.
                     Inside were 3 lovely boxes…..
               like the three Wisemen….bearing gifts
except it was one sweet lovely wise woman…..Susie
from My Home to Yours!
                                                                 red bow
I was so touched by the care she took to wrap it so pretty for me.
The colors even exude warmth which is the way I  think of her.
A warm and loving spirit with always a kind word.
                                                  wrapped

                                                     wrap

                                                         three in box
To my eyes behold………LITTLE SHEEP!!! a whole family of them!
                                                                  box cover
                                                                 And the proverbial Black Sheep.
I think we may all have some of them in the family!

I hadn’t noticed the inside of the box until I was photographing everything.

so precious…..and thank you Paul for taking such good care of the sheep!

                                                more pic
I had fun setting them up on the mirrored tray with
an old Christmas card from my grandfather…….I’ll show you more of it in
                                    another post.
I was so tickled to have found it earlier this month.
                                                       on table

                                       card
Susie knows the weakness I have for sheep because I had purchased some
from her ETSY shop once before,  you can see the post
               HERE
Now another thing that I have wanted ever since I saw them at
                       my friend Paula’s house
                     are WHITE Candy Canes!
I had been looking forever for them and I may have mentioned that
              to Susie once.
Being the thoughtful friend that she remembered so she sent me those too.
                                    candy

                     white
Now if I can just keep Nigella from jumping on the table and knocking them off with her tail
I’ll have them for many years to come.
If not, I know now where to order them.
Thank you Susie so much for the wonderful gifts and most of all for your friendship.
I’ll be back hopefully before Christmas and share more of
the wonderful gifts that I’ve received.

Linking up with Kathleen of Faded Charm for

Counting Sheep

A few months back I ordered some of the cutest sheep from
my friend Susie of
she had just opened her Esty shop and I just couldn't resist them.
Have I ever told you how much I love sheep?
oh maybe I have.

She sent it along with the cutest card
of what else??

Sheep... of course!

I was so excited when I got them that I immediately
took pictures of them (under the harsh
lights of the shop).
I wasn't thrilled how they turned out.
I guess I'm fussy so I wanted to reshoot them.

By the way I also bought these knobs.
 I didn't have a particular dresser to
use them on but I liked them and they were well priced.
I figured I'd find a use for them sometime.
Well after all these months I finally got around
to taking my sheep home.

I found a place for them in the upstairs foyer
on our printers cabinet. Don't you think I should paint this??
I think I just need a push to do it. I'm not a fan of Oak!
I used to use this piece to put my plant tags in
at work but it seemed too good for that purpose
and plus the drawers were too small.
I stash jewelry parts in there now.

It becomes sort of the catch all. This gave me a reason of finally
straighten it out.
I set it up to show you the things Susie had lovingly wrapped
 my goodies in.
Wasn't that sweet of her???
Thanks Susie.

My initials on the card
from metal stencils.

I noticed Susie had just added some new items in the
her Etsy shop so you might want to go take a look.
