Gift Show #3

You know it's going to be a good day when you start your morning watching the cast of the Jersey Shore:)))

on the Today Show in your hotel room.

I didn't start watching them when it first came on the air but probably like most of you I soon heard all about them on every talk show. Whether you like them or not they are entertaining.

I kept kidding George that we were in NYC at the same time as them...maybe we'll see them...maybe you can run down to the NBC studio and catch a glimpse of them!!!
I'm totally kidding of course!

We did have a few other things to do that day...

and some money to spend:))

It was a crisp morning and after a quick breakfast of eggs and pancakes we headed towards the train station again to pick up the shuttle bus.

NYC is best in the morning....people rushing everywhere. You just feel the energy!

I could have spent all day taking pictures on this sunny day but we were already running late

that morning.

Holy Moly it's already 9:30 and we have to crosstown on a weekday!!!

Loved this booths graphics and silhouettes. Not all the booths are large at the show and you can get handmade artist pieces that are very special.

This is another example of some really special jewelry made by a company in Florida.

I was instantly drawn to the birds and nature themes they created.

and the clever way they displayed their jewelry.

The different array of metals made them look even more organic. I had a hard time not wanting everything I saw.....so I decided to stick to the nature themes with the most neutral colors.

Playing it safe......

Who wouldn't want watering cans hanging off their ears?

What every fashionable gardener wants to wear this season I predict:))

I asked if they sold the earring stands .....but they didn't

....They'll have to go on the" honey do list"

One of my stops is always Cavellini & Company but I walked right by it til George pointed that out.

They had a much larger booth then they usually do.

They have the most exquisite papers,stamp sets, cards and etc.

They started their paper line with maps of all over the world but it's grown tremendously from there with every subject imaginable.

They recently started to make the postcards with glitter and they've been a big hit.

We girls just love our glitter.

The next stop is the area called the Piers....this year only one pier was open....the sign of the times...but for me it was good enough ....I usually never get to finish going thru all of them anyways.

While I'm showing you these santos....do you mind that they have no eyes painted in? doesn't bother me but I know the perfect face is what people look for.

BTW the ones I saw with eyes were more expensive.......of course!

Often times the Piers have the exact things I'm looking for. The more gardeny stuff.

See very gardeny and French Flea Market like...

That look that makes us all weak in the knees.

It's now been over a week that we've been back from the show and it's fun for me to revisit all that I swooned over. Hope it is for you too. I still have one more post to show. I've only gotten two deliveries so far. Most of them are coming in late summer and fall for Christmas. By then I won't even remember what the heck I even ordered:))

It's just like opening Christmas presents........except they're not gifts!

I thought I'd take a break from showing you pictures of my trip from the

NY Gift Show.......to share a little bit of nature and spring

at my friend Paula's house.

It's always like a clear and sunny Spring day at Paula's house.

This Ivy has been growing content here for years now. Once a week she stands up on her antique sideboard and waters it. Seems happy there!

The little crocheted rolled shade pull is part of the treasures we bought at the Naugatuck Antique show

we went to on Sunday. I'll show you those in another post.

Debra from Capers of the Vintage Vixens and her lovely daughter Nicole were there

with the best booth. I knew it was her's right away

just from the way it was so stylishly arranged.

She is just as cute and sweet in person as she

 is on her blog.

Tweety birds everywhere.

That's the only kind of twittering I do.

Tinsel Trading. She had so many different styles....maybe they'll introduce more if they sell well.

This paperdoll Paula made after seeing this in a magazine. One of the many magazines

that Laura had waiting for us to peruse during our stay this fall at

her adorable lakehouse.

 Good for Paula to remember what she saw.

Both Laura and Paula inspire me greatly.

Gift Show #2

I was going to wait to show this post but then it dawned on me that it was Sunday tomorrow.

Oh right!!! Silver Sunday.

These pictures just happen to have a whole bunch of silver....

the glittery kind, not the sterling silver kind!

I had the pictures already loaded.
This is the continuation of our buying trip at the NY gift show.

This is the more nautical section of this booth

with soft blues and of course shells.

I was so thrilled to find out that someone else had licensed

Nicol Sayre

 and were doing a better job with it and at a better price.

Ok no silver here but who doesn't like ribbon?

This was a unique ribbon...burlap with bells either in rust or left naturally shiny. I ordered that

.  The ribbon photographer next to it was so bright red and green

 I needed to make this a black and white picture.

 The red and green felted ribbon

 was a big hit in Atlanta from what the rep. told me but I didn't like it.

 I heard that the whole time I was there.

"It sold great in Atlanta"

Yes, but does that mean it'll sell in conservative New England???

Not always!

I adored these little mannequins.

I got those too.

Now this stopped me in my tracks! Look at these can lights. So cute!

Would even look better rusty!

and this fridge!!!

Ok PINK and BLACK maybe not be your thing but

I thought it was adoreable.

Would I do it in my home?

 No! but it was fun to see the originality of this line.
